Mit Unterstützung der Berner Fachschule für Architektur, Holz und Bau hat Prof. Jörg Schleusener die zweite, stark erweiterte Auflage des englischen Wörterbuches „Wood Surface Treatment and Environment“ herausgebracht. In diesem sind nun über 3700 Begriffe auf 380 Seiten zu den Gebieten Oberflächentechnik und Umwelt erfasst. Schleusener ist auch Autor des „Oberflächenlexikons“, das im DRW-Verlag erschienen ist.
Über sein neues Werk schreibt er: „After writing a dictionary about “Wood surface treatment” in the German language I was forced and convinced by some of my friends and colleagues and by the companies I consulted in North America etc. to translate this dictionary in English. First I thought it should be possible to translate the German dictionary into English word for word. But soon I realized that this was not possible, because special terms and explanations are used in North America and above and beyond this they sometimes use different materials, and the steps in the flow chart are different as well. What I offer is a mixture: Translations of my German dictionary, consolidated and supplemented by glossaries from various books, brochures etc., expanded and organized by myself, supported by friends and colleagues.“
